Thai massage is also sometimes called Thai yoga massage or “lazy yoga”, because our therapists use their hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches.
Some people say Thai massages are like doing yoga without any work.
Muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure are also used during treatment.

Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other types of massage.

Why Is It Called Thai Massage?
Thai massage is believed to have been developed by Jivaka Kumar Bhaccha, physician to Buddha, more than 2,500 years ago in India.
It made its way to Thailand, where the Ayurvedic techniques and principles gradually became influenced by traditional Chinese medicine.
For centuries, Thai massage was performed by monks as one component of Thai medicine.

What to Expect from a Thai Massage at Precision Wellness
The therapist will ask you which part of the body you’d like to focus on.
The therapist will use their expertise to combine techniques from multiple massage types to best meet your specific needs.
Unlike most other types of massage, Thai massage is performed on a padded mat on the floor. You are fully dressed in gym clothes or other comfortable clothing, and typically no oil or lotion is used.
The massage therapist may use a combination of:
- long, flowing strokes
- deep circular motions
- vibration and tapping, or
- passive joint movement techniques
This massage will stretch and relax your body.
